Bird & Small Animal Rescue

Bird & Small Animal Rescue is a new rescue that was established for little critters and birds that are in need of a second chance.  It is currently operating out of our home, so space is limited.  However, in time we hope to have foster homes that will allow us to house more of these little pets.  Our rescue takes in Guinea Pigs, Chinchillas, Hamsters, Gerbils, Rats, Rabbits, etc, small Reptiles and Birds.

If you need help placing your small animal or bird, feel free to contact the rescue at 467-4301 or email: ambrown@persona.ca.  A small fee is required when relinquishing a pet in order to help us feed and care for it. If space is not available here, we will still post your pet on our website and help you in any way that we can.

Bird and Small Animal Rescue will be having our 2nd annual Bake Sale on November 28th at the Random Square Mall in Clarenville. We will have a wide variety of yummy baked goods for you to choose from (cookies, cakes, pies, etc) plus homemade biscuits for your canine friend!

We will also have some great gift ideas including clothing, dog & cat magnets for your car or fridge, Christmas Tree ornaments for cats, dog , rabbits and other critters, our 2010 calendars and other animal related products.

If you have baked goods to donate please let us know if you need them picked up or you can drop them off at the mall that morning.

We were overwhelmed with the support and donations we received last year. Let's make this year even better!

Effective November 1st, 2009 we will not be taking on any new animals until next year. We have so many in our care right now that we cannot even think of taking on anymore. Adoptions have been very slow and some of the ones in foster care have had to be returned to us. This is hard for us to do but we have no other choice!________________________________________________________________________

November is Adopt a Rabbit Month at Bird and Small Animal Rescue. During the month of November all rabbits will be available for a reduced adoption fee. If you are thinking of adding a bunny to your family please consider adopting a homeless rabbit. All of these bunnies are already spayed and neutered, all they need is a loving home!

Adoption fees for November are:

• $50.00 - rabbits less than 3 years of age
• $25.00 - rabbits more than 3 years of age
• $75.00 - for a bonded pair of rabbits
